What are BroadwaySF High School Musical Awards?

A regional awards program that recognizes outstanding achievement in high school musical theatre. As part of The National High School Musical Theatre Awards® (NHSMTA®) program—otherwise known as The Jimmy Awards®—the BroadwaySF High School Musical Theatre Awards joins Broadway San Jose’s Rita Moreno Awards in celebrating high schools throughout Northern California. Winners of best Actor and Actress at this level move on to compete in New York.

Beginning with the 2024–25 school year, the BroadwaySF High School Musical Theatre Awards will be accessible to students from San Francisco and Alameda Counties, extending all the way to the northernmost regions of the state.
Our Involvement
The Broadway SF awards are a new location zoned in Northern California that leads into the Jimmy's starting this year! Last year our county was zoned for San Jose Rita Moreno Awards, but with this new edition of the San Francisco Awards are counties high schools will now be applying for the Broadway Sf Awards.
Last year we were given the honor to compete in San Jose's Rita Moreno High School Musical Awards. We got a Nomination for Best Show for our production of Legally Blonde. Kaleigha Sioson received a nomination for Best Lead Actress for her role as Elle Woods, and our Ashleigh Stone who played Brooke Wynhdam, was nominated for best Supporting Actress.
